About Cheri....

I'm a portrait and commercial photographer located outside of Pittsburgh in the picturesque town of Indiana, PA. Whether photographing families or providing "visual collateral" for business websites, I try to capture images that tell a story. With portraits, I take a laid-back, fun approach and don't do a lot of detailed posing. Instead, I prefer to photograph my subjects in environments where they can relax and be themselves. My philosophy is to get great images that reflect my clients' personalities and relationships while having a good time.

My commercial work supports individuals and businesses with their professional goals, including headshots and environmental portraits for company websites and professional social media (such as LinkedIn). I also make detailed business and product images, including food photography. My commercial clients have included artists, artisans, and musicians; real estate, construction, and design firms; biotech start ups; restaurants, farmers markets, and wine/liquor stores.

Nature and travel photography are two of my passions. My fascination for the natural world in all seasons never ceases. I often carry my camera when I'm hiking or exploring - you never know when you'll be surprised by a rainbow of mushrooms sprouting up after a summer rain, or a doe rambling through the woods in a snowstorm, or the gift of an unexpected pink lady slipper in bloom!

My other interests are traveling (especially to our wonderful national parks!), good food and drink (especially ethnic cuisines, red zinfandel wine, and dark roast coffee), gardening (I'm horrible at this but love plants), listening to music of all kinds, and reading great books that open up new worlds to me.
